Welcome to AllAboutCanning.com,

Some may wonder why a person would want to engage in what could easily be an all day event such as canning... primarily, because there is no need for refrigeration.

Once you have meats, fruits, vegetables, or a combination thereof, such as a stew or chili or spaghetti sauce, all you need to do is save your freshly canned products in a dark cool area, and when you open them up for use, they'll be just as fresh as the day you canned them.

There's nothing to worry about if you have a power outage... No need to worry about your food thawing in the freezer. Properly stored, your canned foods will last for years.

We will be including step by step instructions for many canning recipes, along with pictures for each, so please be patient as the images load.

Obviously this site is a work in progress, with only two canning recipes so far.... however, as the season progresses, we will be adding more.

In the meantime, we have posted the following:

Dilly Green Tomatoes
